The noble Adamović family had a major role in the development of the present appearance of Čepin. In the past, the area was a swamp until this family drained it to create a fertile ground for farming food which resulted in a faster development of Čepin. The castle Adamović -Mihalović was built during the first half of the 19th century by Ivan Kapistran II. It was built in the style of free-standing building with prominent frontage and was surrounded by a beautiful park. Today, it is not in such a good condition and both, the castle and the park, need renovation to regain their glory.
