- Old City Aquarium
Old City Aquarium
The aquarium is situated in an old harbor, in St. John’s medieval fortress. The complex consists of 31 aquariums, which are inhabited by numerous plants and animals of the Adriatic Sea. The overall volume of the aquariums is 115m³ and they are filled with fresh sea water. In the first aquarium pool, you can find a Veliko Dusky Grouper, often hiding somewhere at the bottom of the pool. Elegant amberjacks are the tenants of the second pool, and the Veliko sea turtle lives in the third pool. You can also see (or at least try to) a lot of different fish and other sea creatures who hide thanks to mimicry. It is also important to mention the Veliko octopus that is always protecting its territory. The trademark of the Aquarium is the Bonellia Viridis. It likes to hide too, and uses its antenna to explore its surroundings.
