The Art Gallery was founded in 1931. It contains around 5,200 works of art from the 14th century until today. Its permanent exhibition consists of about 400 works. On the first floor is a collection of works from the 14th century until the sixties of the 20th century, from medieval painting icons to abstract modern art. On the ground floor there are the works of Croatian and local painters from the mid-sixties to the present. In the gallery you can see the cultural standards of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Venetian Republic, socialist Yugoslavia and Croatia, and the stylistic and thematic varieties of different works.
