Travelling from Buzet to Pazin, you will find Draguć on the crest of a hill. It will surely amaze you with its rustic beauty and breathtaking vistas that adorn it. It was first mentioned in a grant of Istrian Margrave Urlich in 1102 when it was bestowed to the patriarchs of Aquileia. After two centuries it fell under Habsburg rule, and was thus often affected by wars and destruction, and later by cholera that halved the population in 1855. Confraternities played a major role in the history of Draguć – they took care of many aspects of life, including the church obligations. The famous monument of Draguć is the Draguć breviary dating back to the 15th century, which is now kept in the Archives of Zagreb. Today Draguć is considered Istrian Hollywood thanks to a number of movie made there.
