Imotski is a historic city located in the south of Croatia. Its existence was recorded by the Byzantine Emperor Constantine Porphyrogennetos in his work De administrando imperio in 950. This is a coastal city with the Mediterranean climate, stone houses, narrow streets and steep stone stairs. It is rich with beautiful Art Nouveau facades and fences. Built in the 10th century, the Topana fortress is known for its strategic importance. Today it is visited mostly because of the viewpoint overlooking the city. The favourite bathing area and walkway is the Blue Lake, and the deepest karst lake of Europe, the Red Lake, is also located here. Imotski is also famous for its culture, tradition and ganga.
