Ethnographic Museum Split
The Ethnographic Museum is located on the site of the 4th century imperial chambers, i.e. bedrooms of the Emperor Diocletian. The permanent exhibition has two ethnographic cultural zones: the Dinar one which characterizes the Dalmatian hinterland, and the Adriatic one which characterizes the islands and the mainland. Among the exhibits there are examples of folk costumes, furniture, traditional weapons and other historic artifacts. Temporary exhibitions are organized on the ground floor. Parts of Roman architecture and remains of the old church of St. Andrew from the 7th century have been preserved as a part of the environmental part of the museum.
