- Five Wells Square
Five Wells Square
Five Wells Square was built in 1574 during the Turkish occupation, by covering the moat from Middle Age on the west side of a bastion. Here they built a water tank with a pavement and five decorated wells above. The square has a shape of an irregular elongated rectangle and is closed on three sided by Captains tower, medieval walls and Renaissance bastion Grimani that houses the park of Queen Helen. Along with the wells there are also parts of an aqueduct that used to bring water from the Lake Vrana preserved.
