Residential Home of Vladimir Nazor
Vladimir Nazor, one of Croatia’s most famous novelists and poets, was born in 1876 on the island, namely in Postire. Most notable among his works are: Veli Jože, Živana, Zagreb novellas and Bloody days. He also wrote a lot of poems, and some of the most famous are Halugica, The White Deer, Lighthouse and Minji. In addition to his role as a successful writer, Nazor was involved in politics and became a close associate of Josip Broz Tito. His often stays in Pazin are known due to the panel on the house set there by the High school and Elementary school in 1969. The panel says that Nazor lived in that house with his mother and two sisters while working as a teacher from 1903 to 1906 in the high school.
