This place offers beautiful sights that date back to the 11th century and is definitely worth visiting. The most famous landmark is certainly the castle of Kršan which was named after Kerstlein de Pisino, a noble family that moved there in the 15th century. Nobleman Tonetti from Plomin, also known as the Red Earl, was the last owner of the castle. When visiting be sure to visit the following: the Kožljak castle which was first mentioned in 1102 and is located at the foot of the mountain Učka, the parish church of St. Anthony which was built in the 17th century using the remaining walls of the castle, and the famous Croatian written monument “Istarski razvod” – a document dating back to the Middle Ages, which provides information about the life and literacy of the Croats in this area.
