The biggest lake of the Plitvice Lakes is Lake Kozjak which is also the deepest lake, with a depth of 47 meters (155 feet). In the past, Kozjak was two lakes, seperated by a barrier, but the main biological phenomenon, tufa has grown rapidly and at one point raised the water levels and flooded the barrier. This led to the formation of today’s Lake Kozjak. On the lake you can rent wooden boats so you can go take a closer look at the beauty which surrounds it. During winter and low temperatures, the surface of the lake freezes. The lake is an essential part of the national park, and can be reached directly from the entrance 2. On the lake you can take a drive on electric ships. The ride is included in the ticket price.
