This museum is situated at the Roosevelt Square, in a Renaissance building that originates from the 19th century. The Art Collection of Ante and Wiltrud Topić Mimara of Museum Mimara was founded thanks to Ante Topić’s donation. The museum was opened in 1987. Of the total of 8,700 varied works of art, more than 1,500 exhibits constitute permanent holdings, dating from the prehistoric period up to the 20th century. Here you can also see the pictures and drawings of famed masters, as well as archaeological rarities from ancient Egypt and Greece. The Mimara Museum also features a collection of glass items, as well as a collection of artworks from the Far East and drawings by Raphael, Rembrandt, Rubens and others.
