Monastery of St. Luce
Nikola Ručić and Nikola Buronja in the 1639 founded the Benedictine monastery of St. Luce which is a female Roman Catholic convent. The monastery is located in Šibenik and was established in honor of St. Lucia. The architecture contains elements of Romanesque which are reflected in the appearance of the atrium, library, central hall and painted beams. In addition to the Benedictine monastery of St. Luce, in Šibenik there is another Benedictine monastery next to the Church of the Holy Savior. The nuns from the monastery opened the exhibition in 2008 which shows the monastery collection. In the collection there are numerous items of religious themes such as statues, paintings and manuscripts dating from the 17th century. Entrance to the museum is not free, but the price is symbolic.
