Novigrad cemetery
Novigrad cemetery
Church of St. Agatha is located in the old city cemetery and is an example of three-apse Romanesque church architecture. It has a three-nave structure covered with gabled roof and it has a specific sanctuary that is elongated with a choir area of the central apse. The church dates from the 9th to 13th centuries, and with the characteristics of the Carolingian influence, you can also see characteristics of regional religious architecture of the early Middle Ages. Inside the church there are two late Baroque homemade statues called The angels torchbearers as well as the altarpiece of St. Agatha. The church of St. Agatha was restored and preserved between 1993. and 1995. In 2013., Novigrad cemetery was expanded and now has trees planted along the main path. Also, at the intersection of the tracks there is a stone cross.
