- Old Olive Tree
Old Olive Tree
The old olive tree is one of the most impressive parts of the rich Brijuni landscape and it is unique in its breadth, lush crown and age. It is 6 meters (19.7 feet) high and makes one of the oldest olive trees of the Mediterranean area. Studies have shown that it is around 1600 years old. Despite its age, this olive tree continues to supply people with its fruits, which are used to produce olive oil. Picking the fruits is best to do in October, and the average amount of crop is about 30 kg (66 lbs).
