Petar Zoranić Square (Roman Pillar and Gate Remains)
Today’s Petar Zoranić square is a spacious square located south of the St. Simon’s church. There is a Providur palace right in front of the square and a high grooved Roman pillar in the center. The pillar was originally built in 1729 and it consisted of the Capitol temple remainings that were previously used as a decoration in the palace Janković garden. Right next to the pillar, there is secured area with remainings showing Roman city gates in an arch shape, assumed to be built in 1st century.
