Remains of St. Mary’s church
This former pre-Romanesque church was originally dedicated to St. Ursula, and today only its remains are left. The church also had a dome and bell tower. After its demolition in the 16th century, archaeologists had it explored and filled in 1883, than finally excavated and conserved in 1966. According to the stories, its ground plan resembled the shape of a key, symbolizing thus St. Peter’s keys.
