Nin Saltworks and Museum of Salt

Established in 1955, the Nin Saltworks had a very important role in the life of Nin’s residents. Salt is considered to be the natural wealth of Nin – love for it has been transferred from generation to generation, so, naturally, the museum of salt was opened. Even the Roman emperors at their feasts enjoyed the salt’s abundance of flavors. If you want to see a traditional way of salt production, then you should definitely visit the Museum of Salt. There you can learn about the formation of salt pans, method of operation, tools, impact of salt on health and so on. Here you can also see souvenirs from salt and taste “the flower of salt“ and biscuits and chocolates with Nin salt.
