St. Barbara’s Church
Built around 1400, St. Barbara’s Church is one of Šibenik’s oldest sacral buildings. It is a single-nave Gothic church, as evidenced by the Gothic niche adorned with the sculpture of St. Nicholas. The niche is set above the main entrance and it is the work of the Italian master Bonino from Milan. On the northern wall a Gothic window can be seen. The Šibenik doctor Marko had its lower part built in 1419. It is a unique medieval relief showing a doctor on the eastern Adriatic coast. Today, St. Barbara’s Church also features a small ecclesiastical museum in which the most valuable works of art from 14th to 17th century are exhibited.
