The Coast of St. Peregrine
The patron Saint of Umag St. Peregrine who, according to the legend, had landed precisely in Umag due to its magnificent landscapes and an excellent spring-corn-stew (maneštra). Thus, the street near the sea was named after him and it nowadays holds many bars and restaurants, where you will find refreshments and real gastronomic delicacies together with a beautiful view of the crystal-clear sea from the belonging terraces. On May 23, the day of the patron saint of Umag is celebrated. It is when the locals gather and socialize with cakes and the famous stew (maneštra).
