Greeting to the sun&sea organ

Sea organ is a unique artistic and musical installation that is located on the west side of the waterfront. From the outside, it looks like huge stone steps that extend seventy meters along the coast and down to sea level. Underneath, there is a system of pipes that produces unique organ sounds once filled with sea water. Each tide, wave and wind produces a different mystical sound making sure the nature always plays its best. The organ is a work of architect Nikola Bašić and several experts who have created a truly amazing tourist attraction. Another urban installation which is located on the waterfront next to the organ is called Greeting to the Sun. The circle with 22 meters in diameter is located in the same level as the stone pavement, and consists of three hundred glass plates that have solar modules collecting solar energy under. As the sun goes down, the lights appear following the sound of the organ and thus create a unique bond with the nature – in light and sound. This mini power plant actually can produce enough energy to light an entire seafront along with the rest of this installation since it shows an entire Solar system, the Velikigest circle being the Sun. The creator is the same as the organ.

The Sea Organ and Greetings to the Sun can be found in the old town of Zadar on the crossing of streets of the coast of Istria and Croatian reading room access; since the Forum is around 500m away, it takes only around 7 minutes of walking to reach it
