- The Capuchin Church
The Capuchin Church
After arriving in Varaždin, which was opposed by the Franciscans, the Capuchins built a church and monastery in 1705. The Church and Monastery are characterized by simple stylistic features typical for Capuchin monastic churches. In the church, there is a small wooden tower. Inside the church there is furniture made by the Varaždin masters of the late 18th century. The monastery features a library containing a valuable collection of old books and manuscripts, as well as literary works of older Kajkavian literature. In front of the church and the monastery is a square called the Capuchin Square.
