The 15th century Gothic bell tower was built with the magnificent Romanesque building alongside the Iron Gate. It is located in the western part of Diocletian’s Palace and goes up to the medieval town square. In the 16th century it was redecorated in Romanesque style and the famous town clock was installed on it. The clock is one of the many attractions of Split – it is special for the fact that it has 24 numbers instead of the usual 12.
