- Vrbanić Park
Vrbanić’s Park is one of the many parks in Karlovac. It was opened at the end of the 19th century. The park is named after the former mayor Josip Vrbanić, who facilitated the opening of the park, and supported the planting of trees and numerous ornamental flowers and other plants. The park is located in the south-eastern part of Karlovac, between the river Korana and the famous Karlovac ‘Star’. The park has three sections, the first one which evergreens such as spruce and fir are found, the central part which resembles a French type of park and the third part which is arranged according to the English type of park. Numerous statues and a number of exhibitions were situated in the park until the First World War. Within the park are numerous animals, including peacocks, which attract most of the attention.
