Antonio Smareglia Memorial Room
Antonio Smareglia was a composer of Croatian descent known for his nine operas, most notable of which is the “Istrian Wedding”, set in Vodnjan. In Pula, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of his birth, a memorial room was opened in his house in 2004. On the ground floor, there is a permanent exhibit enriched with biographical material, which is a gift from the composer’s heirs, and there you can see the letters, pictures, scores, photographs, and other objects that tell the story of the composer’s life. Also, visitors can enjoy watching and listening to recordings of his compositions. In the room there are works of art dedicated to the Istrian composer, as well as works by sculptor Alfred Sficco and Gualtiero Mocennio.
