Archeological Museum (Budva-Montenegro)
The Archeological Museum in Budva has a rich archaeological collection begun in the middle of the last century, and the exhibits tell of the rich history of the city, from the first inhabitants of Illyria, through Greeks, Romans, Slovenes tribes to a part of the history when in Budva lived merchants, cattlemen, craftsmen – it’s a history that lasts over 2500 years. The Archaeological Museum is located in the Old Town and contains permanent archaeological and ethnographic collections. The archaeological collection includes a variety of objects found during the archaeological research in Budva, such as Hellenistic gold, various vases, ornaments, cutlery, silverware, which originates from the 5th century BC. to the Middle Ages and those objects display Illyrian, Greek, Roman and Slovene culture. The ethnographic collection contains objects from the 18th to the 20th century. The Archaeological Museum is open from 8 AM to 9 PM on working days and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 to 21 o’clock. The museum does not work on Mondays.
