Ban Batt Street (Bangkok-Thailand)
After King Rama I designated Bangkok as the capital of Thailand, small part of the population of Ayutthaya had settled down on the borders of the city and there perfected their knowledge of making bowls for the monks using the original hammering techniques and knowledge legacy. Everything is done by hand, and You can find the masters in Ban Bat Street. With a small donation, the masters can show You how these bowls are made and You can even buy them if You like. If You are settled in Khaosan Road, You can also visit this place on foot because it is about 2 km away. If You wake up before the sunrise, You will witness a ritual characteristic of the southeastern part of Asia – every morning Buddhists walk through the nearby streets and collect bowls from the hard-working masters.
