Batina monument and viewpoint (Batina)
Batina monument known as the Julka, the first partisan who in 1944 crossed the right side of the Danube, is the work of Anthony Augustinčić. It was built in memory of the Battle of Batina that took between 11-19. 11. 1944. In the battle of the People’s Liberation Army of Yugoslavia and the Red Army clashed with units of the Wehrmacht and its allies. At the site of the monument buried 1,297 soldiers. Near the monument lies the Museum of the Battle of Batina, where you can learn more about the history of the place.
