The Archbishop’s Palace was built in the 18th century in the late Baroque style. This is one of the most significant cultural monuments, which, along with the cathedral, forms the most beautiful part of Đakovo. The Bishop’s Palace today houses the offices of the Đakovo – Osijek Archdiocese. There is a statue of Holy Ica with a miter on his head and a cross in his hand in the courtyard of the Bishop’s Palace. The statue was built from a massive oak tree extracted from the Sava River, which was a gift from the family of Slavko Lukač from Vrpolje.
