Bridge over the River Kwai
This black iron bridge owes its fame to numerous pictures and books and is part of the “Death railway” that connects Thailand with Burma. During the Second World War, it was a frequent target of bombing, so it had to be restored after the war. Today, the bridge continues to lead the historic route from Kanchanaburi to the Nam Tok Railway Station. The most famous part of the railway is certainly Bridge 277, otherwise known as the “bridge over the river Kwai”, which was built over the Mae Klong river. The bridge is imortalized in the book by Pierre Boulle, according to which the planetary popular film was created and the story that describes the construction of the bridge has caused many disagreements about historical (non)accuracy. This is the place where filming occured and You definitely have to visit it. The museum is located in Kanchanaburi.
