Chapel of St. Stephen and cemetery
Saint Stephen the Protomartyr was one of the seven deacons in the early Church, which means that he was the guardian of the poor in the community. His work and martyrdom are described in the Acts of the Apostles in the New Testament. The Jewish elders had St. Stephen arrested and brought before the Grand Council. He was falsely accused of blasphemy against Moses and God. Saint Stephen defended himself, which was why the councillors rushed upon him, drove him outside the city and stoned him. By the chapel, there is a cemetery.
