Church of St. Francis
St. Francis of Assisi Church (Zagreb)
The Church of St. Francis of Assisi was built in the 13th century as part of a Franciscan monastery. It is located in the north-western part of Kaptol square. The church was originally Gothic, but after the 1880 earthquake, it was renovated in neo-Gothic style and a new steeple was added. Inside the church you can see a picture of St. Francis to whom the church is dedicated, a number of pictures from his life, as well as pictures of angels and floral motifs. Next to the church you fill find the same named Monastery and Franciscan Hall, which is now a venue for theatrical comedy.
