The Church of St. Mary and the Bell Tower
The Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in 1882. Its construction is a result of the efforts of Monsignor Paolo de Paris. The church was built in three construction phases: the first was an early medieval single-nave church with three semicircular apses, which was then turned into a trapezoidal three-nave church, which was afterwards demolished and built from the ground up. The church keeps valuable possessions such as liturgical vestments and equipment from the 15th to the 19th century, a stone sarcophagus from the 8th century, and the like. The legend has it that, during a certain dry year, the locals began to pray before the statue of the Virgin and it was then that it started to rain, so the place was saved from destruction. In front of the church is a bell tower which served as a defense tower during the Middle Ages.
