Church of St. Michael
Church of St. Michael
By the end of the Middle Ages, the parish church of St. Michael the Archangel was built. It is a Gothic building with a characteristic mesh sanctuary, high profiled Gothic windows, pointed portals and sturdy external supports. It was built in the 15th century and is one of the few churches in Slavonia which endured the Turkish occupation. Throughout history, the church was rebuilt several times, and the overall renovation of the parish church and its environment began in 1995. It included arranging the church yard and access paths, as well as plastering interior walls. The main altar was restored in 2002, and the tower dome in 2005.
