Church of St. Peter and Paul
Nerežišča is a municipality on the island of Brač known for its many interesting sights. The local residents are mainly engaged in sheep breeding, architecture, agriculture, and especially tourism. One of the most popular buildings in Nerežišće is the small 15th century church of St. Peter and Paul. It is made of stone and adorned with a semicircular apse and a bell tower. Inside the church there is a small altar and a stone relief from 1578. The most interesting feature of the church is a small pine situated on the roof. It remains unknown how it managed to grow there, and it is estimated to be 200 years old. It was declared a natural monument in 1969 and it is also called the Brač bonsai.
