The church of St. Valentine the martyr
During your stay in Batina, we suggest you visit the parish church of St. Valentine the martyr. The church was built in 1780 and is dedicated to the heavenly patron of lovers. Legend has it that St. Valentine loved fragrant flowers, and his favourite ones were roses. He would often give roses to spouses as a sign of appreciation and a gift for a happy union in marriage. The feast of St. Valentine is celebrated on February 14th, known by all as Valentine’s Day. On that day, the Mass is held in Batina and a great celebration takes place.
