Church of the Holy Trinity (Budva-Montenegro)
The church of the Holy Trinity is an Orthodox parish church built in 1804, modeled on the churches of the monastery of Ostrog – the church of St Madam, at the request of the Budva’s Orthodox after the fall of the Venetian Republic. The construction permit was granted by Austria. It is located in the old part of the city of Budva next to the theater. In front of the church You will notice the grave of the famous writer and politician Stjepan Mitrović Ljubiša, born in Budva. The holy three are the patron of the city of Budva and the feast is celebrated for three days. The icons of these churches were painted by Greek iconographies in the 19th century, and they nowadays have an exceptional artistic value. The facade is decorated with rosettes. The area around the church is paved and enclosed by a high wall.
