The City Hall is located in the heart of Cres recognizable by its magnificent appearance with four flags mounted on top of it; flag of the city of Cres, county flag, flag of the Republic of Croatia and the Flag of Europe (EU). The building was built by the local partisans on May 1., 1947., in honor of their colleagues (comrades) who gave their lives fighting for freedom of the city. Today, the City Council of Cres, State Geodetic Administration, Registry office and the Mayor reside in the City Hall.
