Višnjan
Not far from the town of Poreč, Višnjan is situated, which is thought to have been named after the Latin word Vicinianus, i.e. nearby. It was the closest property in Poreč and was under the rule of the Pazin and Gorica earls. In Višnjan, be sure to visit the parish church of Saint Julita and Kvirike, the church of St. Anthony decorated in the style of early Gothic and other local churches. The most famous building in the vicinity of Višnjan is the Observatory that has been listed among the most productive observatories in the world.
