Ethnographic Museum (Cetinje-Montenegro)
The Ethnographic Museum was founded in 1951, and until the earthquake that caught Cetinje in 1979 it was located in the Billiard building. Eight years later, the museum was permanently transferred to a Serbian delegation building which was renovated for the museum’s needs and is now located in the center of Cetinje, on the Square of King Nikola. The museum presents its exhibits to the public through occasional thematic exhibitions such as “From Thread to Fabric”, where You could get acquainted with the best examples of everyday clothing items from the 19th and 20th century. Among them You can find a variety of folk costumes, covers, lace, berths and rugs from which You can observe the multiethnic and multinational unity of these areas throughout history.
