Fallen Soldiers Monument (Herceg Novi-Montenegro)
The Monument dedicated to the fallen soldiers and victims of fascism was erected in 1954 in Herceg Novi, and the architect Nikola Dobrović was in charge. Throughout Yugoslavia, numerous monuments, objects, mausoleums, memorials and similar monuments dedicated to the Second World War that affected these areas were built. According to incomplete data, in the former SFRY about 15,000 monuments dedicated to the National Liberation War were erected. During the break-up of the former Yugoslavia and the wars during the 1990s, many monuments were demolished or damaged. The Monument to the fallen soldiers is located about 700 meters from the old of Herceg Novi. The monument itself is located on top of the hill overlooking the city, but the view is partly covered by high trees.
