Fortress Kanli Tower (Herceg Novi-Montenegro)
This Turkish fortress is known as the Kanli Tower, which translated into Turkish means bloody tower. It is located in the far north of the ancient Hercegovian fortress and is part of its defensive walls. It was erected at an altitude of 85 meters above sea, and it was built by Turks after 1539 on the foundations of the former fortress. To date, it has managed to preserve most of the authentic architecture. The Turks gave her the ultimate look, while the Venetians carried out repairs and upgrades after the conquest of Herceg Novi in 1687 after the two years of Turkish rule. The inside of the wall after a certain time has become a prison on whose walls are still drawings of galleass, fish, crosses, coats of arms and dates which are all works of the inmates. Rabbit recommend that You visit it because it is one of the main attractions in Herceg Novi and the tower offers a wonderful view of the sea and Herceg Novi.
