James Joyce’s Monument
James Joyce was a famous Irish writer, poet and storyteller, and one of the most notable writers of the 20th century. Some of his most important works are Ulysses, Portrait of the Artist in Youth, Vigil over Finnegan, Dubliners, a collection of poems Chamber Music, etc. Pula was his residence for two years while he taught English at the Berlitz School. Just across the school, at the terrace of a caffe, which was named after his novel Ulysses, his large bronze statue is placed today. The statue was made by the famous sculptor from Labin, Mate Čvrljak.

The James Joyce Monument is located in the old town of Pula in the Sergii Street, in the cafe of the same name, next to the Arch of the Sergii (the Golden Gate)
