Jasenovac (Central Croatia)
Jasenovac Memorial, the Education Center and the famous Memorial Museum are located on the edge of Jasenovac. The camp in Jasenovac had multiple roles, it was a detention camp, a concentration camp of the Independent State of Croatia, a working, passing, prison and penal camp. Jasenovac is best known for the monument dedicated to the victims of fascism, who were killed in World War II, known as the Stone Flower. The Memorial Museum was opened to the public in 2006. and its exhibition is dedicated to the unhappy fate of the victims. The exhibition aims to cause empathy with the victims and a negative attitude towards crime.
