Khao Kheow Open Zoo (Pattaya-Thailand)
Khao Kheow is a large and the first zoo that was ever opened in Thailand. It is located in Khao Chompu Wildlife Sanctuary in Chonburi and covers an area of more than 2,000 acres. There are four main concepts that guide its development: animal preservation, animal research, education about animals and tourism. Concerning the last one, visitors can observe over 300 species and more than 8,000 animals, either at daytime or at night. Since the Khao Kheow is quite big, visitors can rent a vehicle or take the bus that guides them through the zoo. In addition, there are animal shows, animal information corner, children zone and a night safari.
