The name of Krušija comes from the Italian word corso meaning course. It is located at the confluence of the Ponikva River in the Adriatic Sea and has been an important part of the life of local residents. In the 13th century, Krušija was mentioned as a source of drinking water and over the years it was praised by providur Mapheo Girardo. There were two problems – the first is that Krušija is located outside the city walls, and the second was mixing drinkable with salt water during bad weather. The Krk statute from the 13th century prescribed the rules for maintaining the well which was intended for drinking, washing laundry and for watering the cattle. Today Krušija is under the protection of the Conservation Department as an important historical place.
