National Liberation Museum (Maribor-Slovenia)
The National liberation Museum in Maribor was founded in 1958 by the National committee. Its purpose, as a cultural institution, is to gather and preserve exhibits and mueum materials from the 20th and 21th century. The origin of the museum can be traced back to the opening of the first national liberation themed data base in the Regional museum. Today, the museum is located in a villa built by the entrepreneur Scherbaum. The collection has an abundance of preserved photographs and audio and video materials. The museum’s pedagogical staff interacts with the visitors, while the organized tours, and various workshops for children and adults make the museum even more interesting. Maribor was once a well-known industrial center, therefore the museum houses a rich industrial heritage collection, a part of which is the movie Tvornica Maribor (Maribor factory).
