Maksimir Park
Maksimir Park
The Maksimir Park was located on the outskirts of Zagreb, in the late 18th and early 19th century, and today it is surrounded by many of the city’s neighbourhoods. It is a habitat for many different plant and animal species, such as the Middle Spotted Woodpecker, squirrels and bats. The park has several big meadows, numerous creeks, and five lakes. The park is especially valuable because of its protection of endangered species in tree hollows in oak forests.
