Momjan is a beautiful place characterized by a rich history and beautiful, eye-pleasing nature. The place is divided into the Lower and Upper Momjan, where the Lower Momjan is recognizable by its bell tower and the church of St. Martin built in the 15th century. Next to the church there are the remains of a historic castle witnessing of the important history of the Istrian region. The land in this area is suitable for the cultivation of fruit trees, olive trees and vines. In the vineyards Malvasia and a very famous beverage called Momjan Muscat are produced. For those who love wine, there are wine cellars which hold tastings and allow you to taste the excellent wines of Northwest Istria. Momjan, in the time of its celebration of the St. Martin’s holiday, organizes Vetrin Muscat or the international festival where wine producers compete, and the best ones are awarded with medals and the title of Muskatir.
