Monastery and Church of St. Andrew
The monastery of St. Andrew is a Benedictine monastery built in the 11th century, thanks to Madi, the Rab Bishop. The church of St. Andrew is a three – nave church with elements of Baroque and Romanesque. Next to the church and the convent there is a bell tower of St. Andrew, which is the oldest bell tower on the island of Rab. The bell tower was built in the 12th century and contains elements of Romanesque. Inside the monastery, eight nuns live and work. Inside the monastery are numerous works of art, handicrafts, dry flowers and numerous souvenirs. Also, the church and monastery contain the remains of former church furniture and numerous icons, among them is the icon of the Virgin and Child from the 16th century.
