Norman palace is situated on the main square of Osijek, the Ante Starčević Square. The palace was built in late 19th century by the architect Joseph Vancaš, and in its architecture dominated elements of the Italian Renaissance. The construction of the palace was attended by only Osijek masters, glaziers and painters. The palace was the residence of Count Gustav von Normann Ehrenfels, whose facade is decorated with ornaments made of terracotta. In the past, the palace had a family coat of arms in the middle, but it was destroyed. Today the palace is headquarters of the mayor of Osijek-Baranja county.
